What character is Jefferson in Once Upon a Time?
The character of the Mad Hatter from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland inspired the creation of Jefferson. Jefferson is able to move freely between many dimensions because to a specialized headgear that bestows upon him the power to open and close portals.
He follows Rumplestiltskin’s instructions and looks for a crystal ball and a pair of slippers. Rumplestiltskin has asked him to do so. After Jefferson successfully locates the crystal ball, he travels back to the castle of the Dark One in order to present it. In the past, he made a commitment to aiding Rumplestiltskin in a plot to coerce one of his students, Regina, to forget the events of her past and move on with her life.
Since she is adamant on resurrecting her dead boyfriend, Daniel, and refuses to give up on her quest, Jefferson reveals that he is acquainted with a wizard from another realm who is able to bring the dead back to life. In exchange for bringing this guy to her attention, he proposes that she provide him a royal pass that will allow him to move freely around the country.
She agrees to his request. After the wizard, Victor, has been transported to the Enchanted Forest, he first checks Daniel’s body to ensure that it is in an appropriate state for the resurrection, and then he selects a heart by hand from a vault. While Jefferson and Regina wait outside of a tent, Victor performs the treatment on Daniel and acts as though he was unsuccessful in reviving him.
While this leaves Regina sad and with no option but to let go of her departed boyfriend, Rumplestiltskin offers Victor a heart as payment for his efforts. Jefferson then transfers the doctor home via the hat, which leaves Regina with no choice but to let go of her deceased sweetheart.
- (also known as “The Doctor”) In later years, Jefferson will have a daughter named Grace, but he will be unable to find Grace’s mother due to the nature of his job as a portal-jumper.
- He decides to retire out of concern that Grace would also be fatherless once he passes away.
- He ekes out a livelihood as a mushroom vendor, and he and his daughter are passing the time in the woods by playing hide-and-seek when they notice the Queen’s carriage parked in front of their home.
After giving Grace instructions to wait outside, Jefferson went into the house, where the Queen, Regina, asked for his assistance in getting something from another country. Jefferson was instructed to wait outside with Grace. She lures him in with the promise of wealth so that he may pamper his beloved daughter with gifts.
- Her plea is denied by Jefferson, and she gives no indication that she is disputing his decision.
- Grace wants to buy a bunny doll when they are in the market, but they do not have the money to do so.
- He makes an attempt to haggle with the merchant, who is an elderly woman, but she rejects his offer.
- Grace isn’t bothered by all of this, but Jefferson is starting to get concerned that he won’t be able to provide a happy life for his daughter.
They had no idea that the elderly lady is actually Regina hiding her identity. When Jefferson and Grace get back to their house, he presents Grace with an improvised toy rabbit that he built for her, and the two of them have a pretend tea party. Because he wants to provide her with a happier childhood, he makes the decision to accept the Queen’s offer.
- Grace is shocked when Jefferson tells her this, and she begs him not to tell her, but he assures her that he will be back in time for tea.
- After handing his daughter over to the next-door neighbors, he and Regina get into the hat and find themselves transported to a room filled with portals to various parts of the world.
Jefferson advises that if there are two persons in Wonderland at the same time, then there will only be room for two people to leave. In Wonderland, Regina uses a torch to light her way through a hedge labyrinth until she reaches a safe deposit box, which she then steals.
- Regina confesses that the thing in the box is her father, and she has every intention of returning home with him when she has successfully evaded the Queen of Hearts’ guardsmen.
- As a result, Jefferson falls victim to her manipulation when they are on their way to the Enchanted Forest.
- The guards are able to catch up with Jefferson, and then they take him to the Queen of Hearts to have him beheaded.
However, Jefferson manages to survive the experience. In a state of panic, he confessed what had occurred with Regina and his hat, and as a result, the Queen of Hearts demanded that he construct another one. After a series of unsuccessful efforts to accomplish this task, Jefferson is shown frantically working on a new hat although the room is already packed with hundreds of existing examples.
Does Belle get her memory back?
In the town of Storybrooke, Mr. Gold has a dream in which he is throwing a birthday celebration for Henry. In attendance are members of Henry’s family, including David (Josh Dallas), Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin), Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), and Neal ( Michael Raymond-James ).
Henry’s choice of a wand to be his present causes Mr. Gold to be transformed into a porcelain puppet and brings the wrath of the family onto himself. He shatters the porcelain Henry in the middle of his explanation of what the Seer had told him, which was that “the boy will be undone,” only to wake up from what turns out to have been a nightmare.
Later on, when Regina (Lana Parrilla) asks Mr. Gold what he and Neal are doing together, Mr. Gold is watching Neal practice sword-fighting with Henry. Gold reveals that they are related due to the fact that Neal is Henry’s father and makes the observation that “obviously fate has a sense of humor.” After being irritated by the event and concluding that Gold was to blame for it, Regina gives the following response: “If your own kid couldn’t bring out the good in you, who will?” Mr.
Gold decides to pay a visit to Belle in the hospital because he believes that she is the only one who can make him feel loved. When he arrives, Belle is overjoyed to see him and she has high expectations that he can assist her in regaining her memory of who she was before the accident. But Regina, who comes just before Mr.
Gold, makes sure that she doesn’t recall by using a cursed matchbook that she lays on the floor. This keeps her from remembering. The matchbook brings up memories of when she was Lacey, a barely clad barfly. These recollections are her “curse.” Mr. Gold is upset that Regina intervened, but Regina makes no apologies for her actions, which prompts Mr.
Gold to do everything it takes to win her back and revive her memories of Belle. Mr. Gold approaches David at Granny’s Diner to ask him about his other life during the curse to determine if there was some way to win back Belle. David tells Mr. Gold that the only way to win her heart is to be himself, so they travel down to the “Rabbit Hole,” where Lacey appears to be having fun by playing pool and taking shots.
After considerable persuasion on Mr. Gold’s part, Lacey finally gives in and agrees to go on a date with him. While they were driving back to Granny’s, Lacey surprised Mr. Gold by ordering Chicken Parmesan and a full glass of wine instead of hamburgers.
- While they were having a brief discussion, he spilled the wine over her dress, and she quickly excused herself to use the restroom. When Mr.
- Gold checks on her, he finds Lacey out in the back after a guy named Keith, who is the equivalent of the Sheriff of Nottingham.
- This leads Mr.
- Gold to develop a dubious disposition toward Lacey.
Lacey is unhappy with Mr. Gold because he wants Belle back and she leaves, but when he confronts Keith again, he pulls his tongue out (just as he did in the forest) so that he won’t scream and hits him with his cane. This causes Lacey to be unhappy with Mr.
- Gold. When Lacey returns, she realizes that the tales about Mr.
- Gold’s evil side are true and is glad for it.
- She tells Mr.
- Gold, “You truly are as dark as people say,” to which Mr.
- Gold responds, “Darker dearie, much darker,” and then he continues beating Keith while Lacey watches with a smile on her face.
In the meantime, David and Mary Margaret inform Emma that Anton is now residing in Storybrooke and has been cultivating magic beans in a field that has been kept hidden by the Mother Superior/Blue Fairy. Mary Margaret, troubled by her own recent deeds, is now as ready as David to return to the Enchanted Forest, while Emma, who believes Earth to be her home and is torn as to which realm she and Henry should dwell in, is eager to return to the Enchanted Forest.
When Regina confronts Emma about Henry’s friendship with Neal, Emma tells Regina that her actions might result in her losing Henry “forever,” which causes Regina to have a dubious disposition toward Emma’s words. Regina employs her magical abilities to follow the dwarves and Anton back to the field, where she finds the beans, after David and Mary Margaret had dropped off the dwarfs and Anton for dinner.
Henry is already asleep when Neal brings him inside, and Neal compliments Henry’s sword abilities before saying that Henry has made friends with August. When Emma asks Neal how he feels about the notion of going back to the Enchanted Forest, he does not provide a definitive answer, and Emma does not bring up the beans.
- Emma still harbors the hope that she can unravel August’s message.
- Greg (Ethan Embry) presents Tamara (Sonequa Martin-Green) with a map that pinpoints the locations in Storybrooke where he has seen magic in action.
- He has not given up hope of locating his biological father.
- Tamara tells Greg that she is going to bring a “package” into town from the location near the town where she has concealed it.
On the same evening, in the outskirts of the city, Tamara arrives with a trailer. After opening it, Tamara reveals to Colin O’Donoghue’s character, Captain Hook, that she has restrained him.
